Now, I'm counting days. Yes, rainy days. Lately it has been raining consistently. Everytime it does, my mind slowly starts to wonder why. Could there be something about the rain? If there is, then what could it be? Once there was a girl whose favorite hang out was the bench at a nearby park. She was the perfect daughter for her parents for she was amiable, sweet, obedient and very generous. But though she was, luck was not meant for her when it comes to friendship. Friends just come and go. For a short time, she gets to smile and laugh, but then when goodbyes are to be said, she ends up crying. This is just how it was. One cold night, she sat on the bench and looked at the diamond filled sky. A sweet calming music of the harmonica filled the air. It was very unusual for her to hear that kind of music, for every night that she was there, the winds followed her grace. She admired the sound that allured her to a place full of roses...dozens of them. There stood the boy who played the wonderful melody of love. Love...something that isn't new to her, for she was loved by people close to her. But it was something she was scared to feel, since her trust was betrayed too many times by poeple whom she thought was true. Her fear carried her away from that place where her heart skipped a beat upon being close to the maker of the melody. For days she supressed her emotions. Fear, oh yes. She feared the pain she might feel if she would give in to the call of love. But each day that passed, the sweet music became stronger and more persuasive. She gave in to the tune... She took a close look at the boy. Surprisingly, she found out that the boy was blind. She held all her feelings tight until he spoke the words "I love you... " With these words, the gurl got so confussed for not too many times have they spent moments together, but on the other side of it, they shared sweet memories that went along with the melody the boy played. She wasn't sure whether this was only dream, wherein she had to wake up. She tried to erase her fears, but when she did, something happened the night she was about to tell the boy what she really feels. Unlike the previous nights of sweet serenade, the music was gone. It vanished like dust in the cold air.Her heart pounded very fast at the same time, hard for the moment she feared, finally came unexpectedly. Everything became obscure. She ran to the place where she usually was, and sat on the bench. How she wanted to cry, but tears that were very dear never rolled on her cheeks. In her fits of sadness, she slept... When she woke up, she wasn't the girl she used to be. She became part of the sky, part of the coldness of the air. From a short distance she could see the boy, with the broken harmonica at his side... It seems like it really didn' t affect him at all. He just sat there, but this time he played a different melody, which wan't meant for her. The girl got so sad, not realizing that it was already raining so hard. Rain, rain, rain... Yes, it rained. For a while, she made it stop. Whispered in the air, looking at the broken harmonica from above with cheerless eyes... "It's no use being the rain... Coz' no matter how many times i fall, you still won't bother to catch me... " *sigh* sad huh... This will be my last post about stuff like this. Tomorrow, won't be a rainy day for sure. The sun will shine so bright, there's no room for nimbus clouds. |
